Data retention & account deletion

How long things stay, and how to have them removed.

In plain English

  • While your account is open, your work stays available to you — that is the point of it.
  • Support Circle daily notes expire on their own at the time you chose, and stop being visible to anyone.
  • You can delete any single entry yourself, at any time, from the page you wrote it on.

Expired notes

An expired note is no longer shown to you or to anyone in your circle. Notes marked 'keep in history' stay until you delete them.

ADMIN: COMPLETE BEFORE LAUNCH — confirm how long expired rows are kept before permanent erasure.

Closing your account

You can ask for your account and its contents to be deleted. Once done it cannot be undone, so you may want to print or save anything you want to keep first.

ADMIN: COMPLETE BEFORE LAUNCH — confirm the deletion request route, identity check, and the timescale for completing a deletion.

ADMIN: COMPLETE BEFORE LAUNCH — confirm how long billing records must be retained for tax and accounting purposes after deletion.

Backups

Backups exist so the service can be restored after a fault. Deleted information can persist in a backup for a limited period before it ages out, and is not restored to the live service.

ADMIN: COMPLETE BEFORE LAUNCH — confirm the backup retention window from the hosting provider and state it here.
